mermaid.tools is a free, open-source, browser-based editor for creating, previewing, and exporting Mermaid diagrams.

Independent project

mermaid.tools is an independent editor not affiliated with the Mermaid.js project or Mermaid Chart / mermaid.ai.

mermaid.live and Mermaid Chart / mermaid.ai are separate products in the Mermaid ecosystem. mermaid.tools is not their official service.

Open source since 2026

The project began in 2026 and is maintained in the public MermaidTools repository. The repository is the stable source channel; newer nightly builds may be deployed before they appear there. Contributions are licensed under the MIT License.

Rendering version

This build renders diagrams with Mermaid 11.17.2. The application loads Mermaid and supporting libraries from a CDN and performs diagram editing and exporting in the browser.
